I woke up at 5:20am yesterday morning and couldn't fall back to sleep, so decided to get ready and go into work a little early... Actually, a lot early. I usually give Lissa a hug, sometimes a smooch on the cheek before I leave for work, but I didn't want to wake her up at 6:15... I don't know if it bothers her, but I figured she would say something. I missed hearing the "bye Stasie", and I was feelin a bit down from that...
I got into work and this one guy has been getting a little out of hand with the jokes... I don't mind the normal stuff that goes on, but a couple weeks ago he put a picture of some chicks bust. I usually don't have a problem with boobies, but people walk back here. I'd rather not have to explain why I have a pair of poorly covered bosoms taped to my monitor. A couple days ago he put up a picture of some chicks genitalia painted up like a monkeys mouth, which was rather artistic, but yet again not the right place for it. Yesterday he grabbed my Treo (Cell phone) off my desk, and hid it. I don't know if he did it, but the phone got turned off. My memory has been going bad, I had been working in our computer room & phone room, and though I left it there. So I'm wandering to all the places I had been, looking all over my desk, the bathroom, and couldn't find it. I even tried calling it, and I was going to follow the sound. No luck, so I pretty much said the two other guys in the room, "Alright, Where is it?". Of course they all play dumb, "I don't what are you talking about". The one guy finally said "I think I saw Dave with it". I rifle through Dave's desk, and found it in the lower drawer that usually holds file folders. I kicked the door shut, but didn't realize how flimsy it was. It dented pretty well. Still pretty annoyed I grabbed my stuff and went for a walk... the walk lead to my car...
I went home and was looking for a nice place to go for a hike in the area. I really wanted to goto Top Rock Trail in Nockamixion. There wasn't much good info online, but I had remembered passing trails when I rode to West Chester from Lancaster. I threw on some shorts, hiking boots, and T-Shirt before I drove out to one of the trails. The trail was short, not heavily used with Prickers and Neddles everywhere! I got stuck in the leg with the neddles and decided to try the other trail. The other trail is gravel made for people walking their dogs. It was pretty, but extremely booring. I decided to head to Top Rock Trail across from Lake Nockamixon! The Trail is right off of Top Rock Trail Rd. It's one of the first bends in.
I originally heard about it from "Theshadowlands.net"
Nockamixion - Haycock - Top Rock Trail Road - Pa Rt.313 north (south from Quakertown, north from Doyelstown) turn right onto Rt.563 follow for a few miles then turn left onto Top Rock Trail. This turn is easy to miss! The road winds up this twisting hill through the countryside. Up on about the second bend, a pull off is on the side of the road that leads to a trail into the woods (some people was logging up in here). Following the trail up to the top of the hill reveals an amazing rock formation that has been used by Indians and supposedly a few cults that centered around animal torture. The Indian presence is documented and a historical fact, the cults are just here say. A feeling of disorientation is felt. At night "glowing" eyes/orbs of light can be seen in the woods. Also, you can hear the whelping of animals within the woods. There is definitely something here, and it will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. There is a gigantic "table top" rock that is to the left of the main formation, underneath of this is a few small crawl through that give an overwhelming feeling of despair.
Lots of Rocks!
I went up with some friends at night, but didn't go far enough up the trail. Lissa, Mel, Harley(dog) and I went up one weekend. I thought it was really cool.
I took some pictures while I was there.
There was this huge rock that was being held up by a tree that had grown around it. I walked out on the rock to check the tree out and the tree started to creak, so I took my picture and got off of it.
There were Millipedes on a bunch of the old dead wood on the ground. I hadn't seen a Millipede since Oklahoma, and I couldn't remember if it were Millipedes or Centipedes that bite. I looked it up Centipedes bite, and Millipedes could sacrete a mild amount of cyanide. I didn't get to close to it, but I did put my finger down to show how long they are...
There was also some odd funky looking fungus/plant there... I didn't touch it...
Some more of the rock formations...
Man had to leave his Mark... I guess someone likes Jimi Hendricks.
It was a good workout... Don't go in flipflops! Wear a pair of Hiking boots with good Ankle support!
I got all sweaty! This is my poor attempt at a smile.
Here's a map of it on maps.ask.comYou can kinda see the clearing where the rock face is...
