Dear Universal Pictures and Ridley Scott,
Russell Crowe is badly miscast in 'Robin Hood'. The character of Robin is supposed to be about merriment and derring-do and mischievous fun. Crowe cannot pull that off because he's too busy being as dour and gloomy as Gerard Butler in '300'. Both actors have only two expressions:
Rage:
Not Rage:
This is why I it was a tragedy that 'Gladiator' won Best Picture (Joanquin Phoenix's awesomocity notwithstanding). Because IT WASN'T A GOOD MOVIE, from either a story-telling or acting standpoint and it gave you, Ridley Scott, an overinflated sense of both your own directing ability and Crowe's ability to believable play someone in a century other than the 20th/21st. Why did you think I would want to watch Russell Crowe do sad and joyless things for 2 hours, while you carefully avoid anything that makes the Robin Hood legend recognizable or interesting?
Universal Pictures: MAKE BETTER MOVIES. Ones that aren't sequels or remakes of other movies. Get some writers who pitch some original ideas and them make those movies. Until then, I will be downloading cams and DVD rips. I refuse to spend money, watching Crowe and Scott beg for another Oscar.

P.S. I must also say a word to Cate Blanchett. Cate, I love you. You put your soul into every part you play and it's always convincing. But you are wasted in movies like this. Please PLEASE get a better agent, someone who can find great parts that actually live up to your potential. I've always said that you were the next Bette Davis. Much love, but not for this movie.
