CHARACTER INFORMATION-
Canon Character and Series: Jet Link/002, Cyborg 009
In-Game Name: Jet Link
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Position & Ship: Pilot on the 4423
Appearance: Jet is six feet tall with a relaxed posture and a very skinny, lanky build, though his arms show muscle from working in the factories. His most obvious features are his long nose--between four and five inches long--and his long, red, gravity-defying hair, which juts from the back of his head and curls upwards. His eyes are narrow, often half-lidded, the irises are a brownish-red. These features enhance his bird-like appearance. A few bruises, welts, scratches and other such injuries appear on his body and extremities from incidences due to flying.
He typically wears anything comfortable, but sticks with the basic white shirt, black pants and boots and suspenders. There are often patches of coal dust on his clothes. On the rare occasion of a formal event, he'll simply add a kerchief around his neck and throw on a vest.
Personality: Although he dislikes hard physical labor, Jet always sees a job through to the end. This is due to his stubborn nature--he finishes everything he starts. Despite this stubbornness, he's reasonable with grudges and will usually forgive someone within a short amount of time. His laid-back disposition, however, makes him easy to get along with, so he rarely has to hold grudges. His outlook is "As long as you're a good person, we'll get along just fine."
He has bad luck with life in general, but especially with women. He has a thing for blondes, and Jet'll do anything for a girl with a pretty face. But he's always turned down. He knows it's because of his nose, but he'll never say that out loud.
He's very aware of his nose, but likes to pretend that it doesn't cause any problems, or that it's not that different from anyone else's. Even though he's heard every nose joke in the book, it's still a soft spot for him, and he can get easily offended that way. But he doesn't let this get in the way of making friends, as many of the good friends he had made fun of his nose at one point or another.
Abilities/Weapons: Due to a work-related accident, Jet had to get prosthetic legs, which he later added steam-powered engines to. This gave him the ability to fly for modest distances. However, because of his novicehood in mechanics, the engines are prone to breaking down, and he has plummeted from high heights. He usually uses this ability for leisure or recon.
Jet spent a lot of spare time on the streets as a child, and thus learned how to street fight. He often fights dirty, throwing dirt or spitting in the enemy's eyes. He doesn't believe in such a thing as a "fair fight." He's also self-trained in parkour, earning him cat-like reflexes and acrobatic maneuvers.
Weaknesses: His ignorance with mechanics means his legs need near-constant attention and he often needs to stop for a minute and fix something quickly. This also means his engines sometimes cut out while he's flying, meaning he could potentially plummet to his death.
Due to his impulsive nature, he flies into a rage while fighting the enemy. This makes him clumsy and causes him to make stupid mistakes, leaving him open for easy attacks. His short temper tends to make him jump into a fight without thinking.
History: Jet was born to a poor family in Abantiare. The only child to two working parents, as a boy, Jet would wander the streets for entertainment. He got caught up with gangs, where he learned to street fight. He would find shortcuts through alleyways and through the sewers, but he preferred the odd paths he found through parkour.
But his street life came to an end when he had to get a job at one of the many factories to help support his family. It wasn't long into his work life that he had an unfortunate accident with the heavy machinery, severely wounding both of his legs. He received prosthetic legs rather quickly and was sent straight back to work in the factory. But in his short recovery time, he put his hands to work making gadgets to improve his legs. His best were the twin steam-powered engines, one of which he placed in each leg. So everyday after work, he would go flying above the smog and pollution. For the first time in his life, he breathed clean air.
Unable and unwilling to continue his industrial lifestyle after seeing something better, Jet quit his job at the factory, gave all of his money to his parents, and traveled to the nearest sky port to hop aboard a ship. He simply picked the first one he saw: the 4423.
