I must have been delusional when I thought that I could only have one rodent in my home. Most people have told me that once they find their way inside its takes a while to be rid of them. So I went to Wal-Mart and viewed mouse weapons.
First you have the average trap but now with a unique plastic square of what looks like cheese on the end. I grabbed a couple of those. Then there are the pellets in a dish. They eat them and go die somewhere. No, I don't think so. Last .. the cage. A plastic rectagular tubing with a door. They crawl inside and they can't get out. Cool! One problem, they don't suffocate so you are capturing live mice. Hmmms. All right I'll try a few of these.
It would appear the critters love the cubes of cheddar in the cages. They can't resist. I'm now catching mice in a humane manner. They are kinda cute. They look so much like cartoon characters with their big eyes and long snouts. Still gross though. What I've been doing is taking them for a ride. I thought about drowning them but I couldn't do it! So each morning I check the cages and if one has crawled inside I take it down to the short cut road where the cane fields are, and about 8 miles from my house, and dump it off. Just because they are invading my home doesn't mean I have to kill the critters. Plus, we have eagles and owls that I'm sure need food.
Now I just need to find out where they are getting in and patch that up.
