News this morning: Lafourche and Terrebonne Parish (I'm in Lafourche) took a massive beating from Hurricane Gustav, but we didn't get our butts kicked! Thanks to a friend of Michael's who stayed behind and hankered down, I have been told I have a lot of tree damage, similiar to Katrina I assume, but no damage to my home, no trees down and no flooding. For living in a mobile home I can't believe I've been spared as many businesses have been demolished and just up the street from me a tornado ripped up the homes there pretty badly.
No electricity or running water for perhaps 2 weeks maybe less but that is the buzz right now. I won't be allowed to get into my parish until maybe Sunday. Personally, I don't care. I'm happy I have a home to go home to.
On a personal note: I can't get your phone the circuits are busy. Will continue to keep trying. Miss you, and love you much.
