Here we go again!

As Gustav churns only as a tropical depression over Jamaica, back home here along the Louisiana Coast everyone is bustling about to prepare for what could be Hurricane Gustav by Tuesday. My personal plans are set as lower Lafourche Parish could be under mandatory evacuation by Saturday. Not much I can do but load up the vehicle with my treasures and head north.

When Katrina hit I expected to come home to nothing. If Gustav does hit the Louisiana coast as predicted to the west of me as a Category 3 or 4 hurricane, I can rest assured I will come home to nothing this time. The water that it will push my way surely will engulf my little piece of swamp property. The best I could hope for is to be able to savage the land and rebuild.

I am prepared for this as living where I am so close to the gulf these things are expected. I'm insured and though you can't replace your valuables I did learn from Katrina to take what cannot be replaced with you. Photographs can never be replaced, as well as, any cherished hand me downs etc. Those items will go with me. But I am optimistic and though I wish no harm to anyone else, I surely would like to see this storm go elsewhere.

Keep me in your prayers in the days ahead. Thanks ...
