I'm so glad Christmas is over this year. My five day holiday with pay turned into a kitchen fest to feed 30 of my friends and family on Christmas eve. Not to mention that being a poor bloke like me, I made everyone a basket with food and goodies. Everything turned out very nice. The food was good (even if I did cook it myself), I was praised for being the hostess with the mostest of the year, and now I want my spot on the Food Network. hehe
Christmas day I was whisked off to Boomtown Casino. I'm a penny and nickel player, but as everyone else decided to try their arms at pulling the 50 cent slots I said what the hell. I picked my slot machine carefully using my artful skill of "oh this one looks kinda cute" and after about 4 pulls, bam there it was! Three circles with stars saying triple, triple, triple. I am $2,500.00 richer, had my picture taken and will be in the monthly casino bulletin as a "jackpot winner". Can I tell you, my knees went weak and I started crying. I can now pay off all my medical bills!
The start of my New Year was quiet and peaceful. Those old wives say that what you do on New Year's Eve will set the pace for the rest of the year. I did a little shopping, made me a fabulous dinner, put a log on the fireplace and spent the night cuddled up in a blanket reading a book, drinking a hardy red wine and listening to some classical music. At midnight I sat on my front porch gazing at the stars and watching the fireworks. Ahh delightfully decadent way to bring the New Year in .. thoughtful, happy and very content.
I've made no New Year's resolutions. Just to continue on my journey in life the way it is and to be more forthright with my feelings, commitments, work, friends and family.
Wishing everyone a prosperous and harmonious 2008.
Much Love to all,
Cat
