Leave me a comment saying "Card Games are serious Business!!!"
I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.
1. How did you get into Avatar? What's your favorite aspect of the show/episode?
I was flipping through the channels, stumbled upon it, watched it here and there. Wasn't until, I think about "The Storm" or theresabouts that I started to get into it, and by the first season finale, I was hooked.
But as for my favorite aspect of the show? The dangerous ladies. All of them. Katara, Mai, Azula, Suki, Ty Lee, Toph, they're all great. Great characterization, and they all get to kick ass very often and often at key moments. A lot of other shows could stand to learn of the awesomeness of dangerous ladies.
2. Who is your favorite character in Avatar, and why?
Aang. He's just so cheery and happy; it's refreshing to get that in a protagonist in this day in age, like Luffy or Vyse.
3. Yuugioh. How do you feel about Anzu? How would you characterize her relationship with Yuugi/Dark Yuugi?
I think Anzu is awesome. She's a well-rounded, three dimensional character with nuanced characterization and relationships to the other characters, which is especially important considering the love triangle with Yuugi/Dark Yuugi! While personally I would have liked for her to have more action and duel alongside the guys (Mai Kujaku's feeling a bit lonely, though she'd never admit it. ;)) the fact is that she contributed to the story in real, material ways that only she, and not some generic archetype, could.
And speaking of that love triangle, the way I see Anzu's relationship with the Yuugis is like this; before Dark Yuugi came into the picture, Anzu cared for Yuugi in a mostly maternal/platonic fashion. Like Katara, Anzu's a very motherly person and given Yuugi's small appearance and meek personality her maternal instinct was no doubt stirred by him. Then Dark Yuugi showed up, and so Anzu was given a look at what Yuugi could become like, and she rather liked that. A lot. Combine being a teenager in love and being a character in Yugioh, and you have Anzu's stunt at the amusement park.
But in all seriousness, with the regular Yuugi, Anzu has someone that she looks out for, encourages, and protects as best she can, and with Dark Yuugi she has someone who looks out for her, encourages her, and protects her as best he can. So, she loves both Yuugis for the very simple reason that they combine into one person her ideal partner. Only, as Anzu finds out after Duelist Kingdom, the two Yuugis aren't really one person, and the one who changed everything for everyone will have to leave them one day. So, she has all these conflicted feelings, but she never lets these feelings lead her to do something bad; indeed, it is because of these feelings that she purchases the cartouche that ultimately saves everyone in the Ancient Egypt arc, so Anzu gets a lot of points for that. And while this is even more subjective then the above, I think that Anzu's feelings for the regular Yuugi are just a bit stronger than for the Dark Yuugi. ^_^.
4. If you were trapped on a deserted island, and you could only wish for one thing (except getting off that deserted island), what would you wish for?
More wishes. Hey, you didn't exclude that option, now did you?
5. Do you attend conventions? If so, which ones? If not, would you want to attend a convention? Why?
I used to go to Game Faire when I was younger, but they folded years ago. I also went to Dragoncon once. Overall, I'd like to be able to go to a convention again, but I just don't know anyone in person to go with. Shame.
