Where I Watch Fresh Pretty Cure! Episode 44-50

Going in, I wondered how they were going to pace things out to fill the remaining run-time without making those events feel padded. They of course did a very good job on the pacing, giving enough time for all the important considerations on the plot and character fronts and having just the right number of complications and set-backs.

While it did come out of nowhere, I really liked the sequence where Northa and Klein fused into one super-being and the fight turned into something out of Dragon Ball Z, complete with rapid-fire laser blasts from the palms of their hands. We also got the return of Cure Angel from the movie, complete with wings for the other members of the team; I can't help but be amused at how Miki's wings look more like jet wings than anything else.

And of course I would be remiss if I didn't mention anything about Souler and Wester's redemption and miraculous rescue from the "delete hole". I was perfectly content to go with "we're popular with the fans, don't question it" as to how they survived, but Chiffon bailing them out worked too. Plus, the hohoemina was freaking adorable, like I'm going to say no to anything that would facilitate that? Oh, and of course, Doughnut Brothers. That is all.

Finally, Lord Moebius. Right from the start when you can see how Labyrinth looks like a giant circuit board, I figured it would turn out that Moebius was a machine, and I was in no way disappointed. The discovery and presentation of the history of Moebius's creation as well as his true form put me in mind of a lighter version of the final boss from Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, which is a very good association as far as I'm concerned.

P.S. Of course Love doesn't give Daisuke a conclusive answer, a solid yes or no would risk pissing off too many people. Well played writers, well played.
