As some of you guys might have realized already, my taste in music extends far and wide to the point that I can just about name a favorite artist of mine in every genre. Today, I downloaded Jem's new single "Crazy" and "It's Amazing" from iTunes, which I recommend you sample the preview of them if you ever get the chance (that is, if you like this type of music). Her sophomore album will be making its official debut next week on September 16, and if you go to Jem's official website you can download a free track from it if you suscribe your e-mail to her mail listing.
Here's a music video of "They" from "Finally Woken", her first album.

When I first heard of Jem, her amazing instrumentals on "Finally Woken" immediately caught my ear, and on top of that she had a great voice as well. I think the reason why her beats and the sounds behind the voice are so wonderfully put together has to do with the fact that she used to be a DJ who spinned her own music at late night dance clubs.
By the way, I watched MTV's VMA last night and I wonder if i'm the only one who thought the award show totally sucked *****. The only performer and act that I enjoyed throughout the whole show was Lil Wayne, but everyone else was so lackluster I can't believe I even bothered to watch it. I also might be biased based on the fact that I hate MTV since they only show actual music 15% of the time, and the fact that Britney Spears won THREE (yes I repeat, THREE) awards, which instantly reassured my disappointment in the mainstream music industry.
MTV = Maliciously Televised Vomit
Jem = amazing artist that you need to look for this coming 9/16
