OK, so maybe he had a thing for men with devious minds. Devious minds and clever hands and smiles that sent shivers down his spine. Parker couldn't have known how right she was when she called Sterling the evil Nate. Eliot on the other hand knew, oh yes he knew.

Sophie had to say his name twice before he could shake his mind free of that time in Belgrade with the feathers and the silk ropes. He'd been willing to do just about anything before Sterling let him come that time. Evil was too light a word. And now he was here. Eliot shifted in his seat and earned himself a piercing look from Nate. Damn, Nate and Sterling in one town could never end well.

He managed to stay away almost the whole job, managed to avoid temptation, until he was cleaning up some loose ends in the office they'd used and heard a familiar drawling voice behind him.

"Hello Eliot..."

"Sterling..."

"Did you miss me?" Eliot set his yaw before turning to face the other man.

"You mean did I miss getting strung along, teased and left without the merchandise I was sent to collect? Then no... I didn't miss you." He was lying though. Sterling's easy slouch against the door frame and those damned piercing eyes were affecting him and unbidden images of other times they'd been in the same situation rose in his mind.

"Now, now Eliot, didn't your mama teach you not to lie...?" Sterling moved away from the doorway, slow measured steps intended to drive Eliot mad. "You know there's no use... I always could see right through you."

Eliot gripped the edge of the desk as Sterling stalked closer. He couldn't help it, his body was reacting and he fought to keep the blush away from his cheeks. Fuck, he could hold his own against any thug with a gun or a blade but throw a clever tongue at him and he was blushing like a damned teenage girl. Eliot growled his frustration and Sterling's grin widened just a little bit more as he stepped close and whispered, his breath hot on Eliot's skin:

"What's the matter? Nate not keeping you satisfied?"

The bang of Sterling's back hitting the wooden wall reverberated inside the officer and Eliot could still feel the grin on the other man's lips as he kissed him hard, licking his way inside his mouth, intent on wiping off the smirk the only way he knew how. Sterling gripped Eliot's flannel shirt with both hands and pulled him close, twisting until their groins met and both of them groaned into the kiss.

"Eliot, what the fuck is going on?" Nate's voice in his ear shocked Eliot back to reality and he broke the kiss and stepped back, trying desperately to control his breathing.

"Nothing, nothing's going on... I'll be out in a minute, ok?"

"Ok, I'm... we're waiting." Nate still sounded suspicious and Eliot grunted an unintelligible response before reaching up and plucking the comm from his ear as he stepped close to Sterling again.

"He satisfies me just fine, Jim, and I him so stay the fuck away from us..." It was no use of course, Eliot knew that as soon as the threatening words left his lips. Jim Sterling never lost, and especially not to Nate Ford.

Oh yeah, Eliot Spencer had a thing for devious minds and clever hands and one of these day's it was going to be the death of him. Quite literally...
