"Please don't break that!" Argyle's voice broke through the red haze clouding Marie's mind and she forced herself to take a deep breath, letting the air out in a low growl. She dimly heard Argyle asking about what happened as her own heartbeats thundered in her ears. He was going for Celia, her Celia, Celia who was supposed to be safe in school. Far away and unconnected. The rage was rising again, together with the urge to rip, shred and destroy anything between her and her child.

"Boss, Marie, you need to calm down... come back here..." Miss Sarah's warm and solid hand on her shoulder together with the calm voice reeled Marie in again and she forced herself to take long deep breaths. It was not too late. There was still time... As she relaxed her fists she felt a drop of blood trickle down her palm from where a nail had pierced the her skin.

"What are our options?" Marie turned and looked at her friends. Weaknesses her mentor would have called them, he had barely trusted her after five years of training, but she was glad to have them, especially now when they launched into a heated debate of the most effective way to intercept an airship before it reached the Funnel out of the city and was out of their reach.

It turned out the plan with the least amount of variables was to reach the Funnel before Amberfitch's airship and use the tight quarters of the construction to get on board. Armed with grappling hooks and all the things Argyle thought they might need Marie, Miss Sarah and the small copy of Sparky rushed towards the huge sprawling metal and glass monstrosity that was the key to Airships and other flying machines getting in and out of Chrysopoeia.

Marie could still feel the rage rolling in her chest but she kept it there, under wrap, for now. She would need it when they caught up to Amberfitch but for now she needed a clear head more. As she leaped a gap between buildings and landed with a roll and a grunt she couldn't keep a cold smile from her lips. The hunt was on and this time she was not the prey.
