Title: Brothers in Arms
Genre: RPS
Words: In total just over 800
A/N: havenward showed me some pictures of Robert Downey Jr and remarked that in one of them he looked a lot like JDM. My brain jumped on that and as the evil wonderful enabler she is Haven fed the bunny with a few prompts on comment_fic. The rest, as they say, is history.

Prompt: JDM/RDJ, brothers, responsibility, madness

Jeff leaned back on his chair and took another drink from his beer as he watched his brother work the crowd. Robert weaved through the other patrons, handing out smiles and winks like they where candy all the while picking pockets and stealing hearts. They'd done this for a good while now, their hair and beards getting a gray hair or two but Jeff couldn't help but smile at the familiar feeling of the adrenaline surging through his veins. Soon it was time for his part.

Robert finished his lap around the bar and settled for a mark. The guy was large but looked slow and Jeff started to mentally prepare himself as Robert slid closer and started baiting their target. He was ready when the signal came and donning his most fearsome big brother face he stepped in behind Robert and stared at the poor schmuck who was their ticket out of here.

"Is this guy bothering you, little brother?"

The brawl was really rather magnificent and it was made even better by the fact that the two of them managed to slip out the back door with only a few bruises on the both of them. As they sped off, Robert sprawled out in the backseat of the convertible and Jeff driving, they wore near identical grins. It was madness but it was their life and they wouldn't trade it for anything...

Prompt: JDM & RDJ + Sam Ferris, brilliant, picky, amused

Another bar, another time and another goal. Today was not about earning a living, today was about relaxation. They'd had a stroke of luck in the last town and had enough funds to last them at least a few weeks and a couple of states.

In a way they where celebrating and while Jeff was content with his beer and shot of Jack in the corner Robert was on the prowl. He was flashing his brilliant smile at anyone pretty enough and making them feel like the most special person in the room. Jeff chuckled and let his own eyes travel the room as well, for a no-name town there were a surprising amount of potential in the room but when his eyes fell on the woman at the end of the bar he knew he could stop looking for the night. She met his eyes with a half smile and a lifted eye-brow and he grinned back at her before looking over and catching Robert's eye and half nodding in the woman's direction.

It took only a few minutes for Robert to get her to join them at the table, as she walked over Jeff admired the maturity of her body and imagined what those hips would feel like under his hands. She interrupted his fantasy with a question:

"You always send your brother to do the picking up?" Her voice was dark and sultry.

"Well, he knows how picky I am, it cuts down on disappointment."

"Mhm... I bet it does. What if the target takes a liking to him instead?"

"Well, we are brothers and brothers share."

"Really now..." Her suddenly calculating look showed Jeff he'd chosen well this time too.

"I'm Jeff, this is Robert as you probably already know and what might we call you?"

"I'm Sam and I think you should buy me a beer and tell me more about this sharing..."

Later, when he trust into her welcoming heat while she licked hot lines up Robert's chest, Jeff decided Sam had really grasped the concept quick enough. Then she thrust back at him and clenched her muscles and he didn't think anymore for a good while.

Prompt: JDM/RDJ, sweet, loyal, facepalm

Robert could be sweet, like the time when Jeff was laid up with the cold from hell and he went out in the pouring rain to pick up chicken soup and tissues. Of course being out in the rain lowered his immunities and made him catch the same cold and Jeff had to listen to him whine about the same bad daytime television that he himself had endured for another week.

There was no doubt Robert was loyal, there was none other Jeff would rather have at his back in a fight or by his side in a con. Of course that also meant Robert started at least half the fights they got into, even when they didn't need distractions or exit strategies. And with Robert on a con Jeff never knew when the game was gonna change, most of the time for the best but sometimes with rather epic consequences.

No one in the world could make Jeff facepalm harder than Robert and he wouldn't want it any other way. His brother was a firecracker but he was his firecracker and when his charm brought another pretty thing to their room to share Jeff loved him just a little bit more.
