good news and bad news.....
SpaceShipOne easily made the second trip into space today, handily beating the altitude record for a plane at the same time. Congrats to the team, and where do I sign up for my flight?
If you know me, you know I am a big space fan. I feel that we have failed, for the most part to grab out heritage, and seek out our future since we left Luna.
Unfortunately, on this auspicous day (47 years since Sputnik) Gordon Cooper has passed away. Gordon Cooper was one of the original 7 astronauts in the US space program, he flew the last of the Mercury missions and eventually flew on of the Gemini's as well.
Look at the moon tonight, really look at it. We stood on it's surface, and he helped get us there.
