There were so many lines that I could quote in this part, lines that really touched me, or that were just so perfectly Ben, but I'll choose only one that I adored:
Leslie looks down at him with bright, gleeful eyes and whispers “Let’s do it again” and it doesn’t matter if she’s a deity or a queen or simply Leslie who lives down the hall, he’s powerless to refuse.

So yeah, thank you and thank you for the line quoting.

So, so many things are just perfectly Leslie & Ben that I couldn't list all of my favorites. I think my favorite part so far has to be from part 1 when Ben's thrilled that "there’s going to be at least like five-percent of Leslie that only wants to make out with her boyfriend so she can play spies with him." That is just early Leslie and Ben summarized in one sentence--Ben pining and admiring and Leslie hopelessly clueless about charming her new friend. It's wonderful.
Also, the conversations at the doors? I'd like to order one Ben Wyatt at around age 30, please.

Yeah there's this thing going around tumblr about Ben/doors being an otp! perhaps second only to plaid (because seriously he has a ridiculous number of awesome moments in doorways), so having them have so many conversations in doorways is my little nod to our awesome fandom. But also, yeah . . . I do love all the conversations they have there, emotional honesty in hallways, who knew?

And mostly I came here to say that I actually know someone that this happened to. My aunt's sister ended up marrying her stepbrother. They were teenagers when their parents got married and then they eventually ended up getting married too. I'm sure it makes for an awkward "how did you guys first meet" storytime, but I don't actually find it that weird? Plus, I think it's a perfect teenaged parallel to their forbidden office romance from canon.
Basically: keep on keepin' on, lady. I LOVE IT.

But yeah I think the step-siblings idea is what made me pick this prompt. Like I never would have just done a high-school!au without that additional factor because I couldn't have figured out the right canon parallel, but this is really almost perfect (so seriously if it's your brilliant prompt let me know, I owe you a cookie).
