Episode... uh, what is it? 3? 4? Umm.... whatever lol.

POV: JASPER - Living Room - September 13, 2008

Here comes the hurricane of everything Alice.
Bella had just left with Edward, but not before Alice dressed her up like a human barbie... again. I can't believe that Bella hasn't even guessed what we were doing to her today. We must've caught her off guard since she learned that our family isn't so big on celebrating birthdays. Too bad we couldn't stop Alice. She's small but very strong willed.
I started helping with putting up all the decorations. Alice was busy nagging everyone to do the tasks perfectly - even me. Rose gave up on trying to bake the cake so she went to help Emmett with wrapping the presents. Esme took over for Rose and then Alice got the ladder to decorate the porch and front lawn with twinkling Christmas lights.
It didn't take long for all of us to finish. Not a thing was out of place - Alice made sure of that. The trees glinted with bright lights that shone like a night sky. The pink, silver, and white decorations definitely made the house look like a larger version of the cake. We all changed into the outfits Alice had picked out for us and waited downstairs for Carlisle to come home from the hospital.
He came home a half hour later, his eyes filled with regret and remorse. Esme greeted him at the door with questions of concern.
"Carlisle, what happened? Are you alright, dear," Esme asked, a hint of panic in her voice.
"It was... I - He's not... They told me to go... I had no way of" - Carlisle was cut short with the hum of the silver Volvo pulling up into the driveway.
Edward got out of the car sternly, his glance flitting from Carlisle to Bella and back to Carlisle. He walked around swiftly to the other side to open the door for Bella. She looked terribly confused as she stumbled out even with Ed there to keep her stable. Then her look flashed to anger and annoyance once she noticed the decorations and realized what the secret was.
     "Bella, do you like it?"
Alice's innocent tone certainly did not go over well with Bella. "ALICE!"
"Oh, come on, Bella. Please! Do this for me. I put a lot of hard work into this. It's your 21st birthday afterall-"
"I am 18 forever," Bella retorted.
Emmett interjected, "Humor her, Bells. You know she can't help it. I mean, look at that face."
Alice turned on her puppy dog face. Soon, Emmett joined her. Rose rolled her eyes. "Why don't you guys give Bella a break," Rosalie pointed out. Alice huffed at the comment.
I was so caught up in the argument that I didn't notice that Edward, Carlisle, and Esme disappeared. I couldn't hear them; they must've gone out of ear shot.
"Let's go inside. Alice really did put a lot of work into this for you, Bella," I told her.
Calming Bella with my power did the trick. She acquiesced and we started for the house. Alice squeezed my hand lightly, flashing me one of her gorgeous smiles.
"Thanks, Jazz. I owe you," she mouthed me when we entered the doorway.
I kissed the top of her head and smiled contently.
The others were now back in the living room, hiding something.
The night went by with laughs (mostly from Emmett), groans (from Alice when Bella didn't want to take pictures), and fake smiles (of course, from Edward, Carlisle, and Esme.)
I tried making everyone happy and excited, but it didn't completely burn out my brother and parents' moods. Something must really be wrong.

FLASHBACK - POV: CARLISLE - Hospital - Right Before Bella's Party

"Carlisle. We have a patient for you in the E.R."
"Yes, Sam? What's his name and condition," I responded, already making my way for the double doors.
"Charlie Swan. Age 42. Resident of Forks, Washington. He was in a car accident near the airport. Small gash in his head, broken arm, a few broken ribs, and bruises and cuts almost everywhere."
I stopped dead short. Sam backtracked from the sudden halt of my long strides.
"Dr. Cullen? Are you okay," he waved his hand infront of my face.
"Sorry," I apologized, starting for the E.R. again.
I got into the room and saw Bella's father lying - very much helpless and weak in his state - on the bed. He was unconscious and bleeding from the head to his toes. He looked worse than I thought. I hurried to look at him more carefully.
"Dr. Cullen. We need to act fast. He's losing a lot of blood," one of my colleagues said huskily.

POV: JASPER - Back to Bella's Party

"Can we stop now? Please, Alice. You've tortured me enough for one night, haven't you," Bella pleaded. Alice sighed and shook her head.
"Yes, Alice. I think Bella is right. It's almost 4 in the morning," Carlisle pointed out. He hadn't completely relaxed since he got home so he probably wants to get back to the hospital early.
"Really? Boy, does time fly. Okay, Bella, I'm done with my fun," Alice said innocently, turning off the music and flipping on the lights. She came back to my side, twining her fingers into mine.
"Finally. Freedom!" - she slouched onto the couch for effect - "Edward, can you tell me what's been bothering you now? You, too, Carlisle and Esme." They stiffened slightly.
She really did notice something wrong. I looked down at Alice who shrugged her shoulders. She must've been too busy with the party to see what was wrong last night.
Edward sighed. He looked at Carlisle with concerned eyes. Then he took Bella's hand, standing her up, and walking her outside.
I tried to focus on something else. I decided to take down all the party decorations and mostly everyone else did, too. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't help but still hear their conversation.
     Bella, Charlie's in the hospital.
What does that mean? Her voice shook a little.
It means that he was coming for your birthday, but on his way here from the airport, he got into an accident.
     Silence. Then:
     Is... he okay?
     He will be. Eventually.
Well, how come no one told me!? Hysteria was taking over her.
We didn't want to spoil your birthday party..
Spoil it??! My attitude went bad the second I saw the decorations!!
There was another silent gap. A sigh. And then:
     I know, I know. I'm being mean, aren't I? It's just that - you know I hate attention, Edward.
I'm sorry, Bella. I promise that Alice won't ever throw you another birthday party as long as we exist.
I felt Alice's mood go south. I smiled at her half-heartedly and hugged her.
Can we go see Charlie now? I haven't seen him in so long...
That might not be a good idea, Bella. You're still growing. Even Jasper still struggles when near hospitals.
I winced at my failure to control myself. Images of Bella's 18th birthday flashed through my mind. God, I hate me. I continued on with my chores, blocking out my latest memory.
They came back in then. The mood in the room changed. Edward glanced at Carlisle, stroking Bella's hair. Bella cried our tearless sobs. She went upstairs and into her bedroom. Everyone could hear her weeping self-hatred tears.
     "Carlisle," Edward started, but stopped.
"It's not safe, Edward. I'm so sorry. I'll go see how Charlie's doing though. Try to calm Bella down. It's going to be alright," Carlisle said, apologetic. He took his coat off the hook and went out to go to the hospital.
Edward disappeared upstairs to Bella. Everyone was silent while they finished cleaning the house.

I was going to add more onto this but I have to do some homework. See you's. :D
