Holiday, Part IV

Jun 15, 2006 16:12

This was our second day at Disneyland. Because we’d arranged to meet ivystone, jackknight and TC at 4pm, we decided to be sensible and not overdo it. So we were there when the park opened at 9am, stayed until just after midday, then went back to the hotel for a break. We gave the kids a little bit of time to go round a few attractions together, while Hubbie and I did the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride and the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. After lunch, the kids had a great time in the swimming pool, while I did some reading. I was going to use the coin-op washing machine at the hotel too - we’d brought seven days’ clothes with us for a thirteen day holiday - but all the machines were in use.

At 3.30pm, we walked back to Disneyland, and the Blackettes and I headed straight over to the giant marble in the Tomorrowland Plaza (the agreed meeting point), while Hubbie went to buy some stamps for postcards and joined us later. ivystone and family were slightly delayed due to car parking issues, but we eventually all met up. We chatted a while near the marble, while my kids continued to get their hands wet, and then we decided to do a few attractions. First we did Innoventions, the technology bit, where the Blackettes and TC made a beeline for the computers, followed by Autopia and then pizza for tea (or was it pizza followed by Autopia? I can’t remember which way round). We did a little photoshoot and then went up to Toonland, where faeriegirl1 and TC ran riot, through Minnie’s house, met Mickey Mouse and then into a play area until Toonland shut.

Hubbie and jackknight got on really well, which I was really pleased with, and which made up for my own quietness in some measure. They must have set the world to rights at least a couple of times while we were chasing the girls around! A successful meeting (and I hope ivystone thinks so too)
