hi, again, lovely flist! and, hello, muse!

Warning: this post runs the gamut from death in the family to dirty fanfiction writing. Sorry. You're not obligated to try and comment on both parts.

I've been back since Sunday night, but I haven't posted because I haven't had much to say. I had a nice visit with my family; the circumstances were sad, but the funeral and visitation were more like family reunions than somber, depressing ceremonies. Granny was a kind, patient lady, but her life was really hard, especially so the last few years, so her death was as much a relief as anything. It was good to say goodbye without manufacturing some maudlin spectacle. We couldn't have had a more beautiful day to look out over the field at a country cemetery and hear the 23rd Psalm.

Anyway, I'm back, and apparently I hadn't felt like plugging back in until today. The other reason for the radio silence is a good one: I've been writing.

(This is huge. My writing was tied to my depression for so long that I'm still learning how to do it when I don't need it as therapy. It hasn't been easy. It will probably continue to not be easy as long as I stay on anti-depressants.)

Apparently, my brain doesn't want to work on the big project I set myself on for mini_nanowrimo. Pre-plotted stories and writing with deadlines: these are two things I suck at, and when you combine them, apparently it's paralyzing.

So what am I writing instead? I'm so glad you asked.

Hawaii Five-O slash. Oh hell yeah.

3500 words, and it's all done but the editing. I can't even tell you how long it's been since I wrote anything sexy, much less R rated. Since I'm in the mood, I think I'll revisit the Doctor Who fic I was working on (Eleven/Rory, established relationship /Amy). It's just as thinky/talky as smutty, but that's my wheelhouse.

Anyway, I'm hopelessly behind on your lives lately. I hope you can let me wipe the slate clean and start over. Again.
