1. loving the new Paramore album and the new EP by The Academy Is...
2. trying not to think about packing for Vegas. (Srsly, in three days?!)
3. about to start reading a book of potboiler crime stories by, of all people, William Faulkner. This ought to be an amusing trainwreck. (Faulkner took to writing potboilers late in his career when he needed money for booze. But he's supposedly not entirely incompetent with the genre: he helped write the screenplay adaptation for Raymond Chandler's noir novel The Big Sleep.)
4. very glad I just met a deadline with my dissertation director and am celebrating with a donut and coffee
5. just discovering that the built-in spellcheck in Firefox wants me to get fat: it keeps saying 'donut' is misspelled until I make it plural, lol
