Too lazy to type this up last night.

Janette & Brandon (cha cha cha) -- ♥ Seriously. They've never been in their style, but you'd never know it. They're so well matched as a couple, ability and energy and personality wise.

(And, yes, you were wrong Mia Michaels. But thanks for trying to cover it up with that "you're always hardest on the best" platitude/malarkey.)

Kayla & Kupono (contemporary) -- That was pretty good, I guess. I feel petty for disliking them for no technical reason, but then again, if they rub me the wrong way, it effects my enjoyment of their performances, and that's a technical thing in itself, yes? I guess I feel like Kayla's often putting on a show instead of being honest and trying to connect to the audience. But the judges love her, so. *shrugs* And, hell, they seemed to really get Sonya, which was unexpected but nice to see from such pretty, pretty people. I think these two are well suited to each other.

Randi & Evan (broadway) -- I love these two, so thought it was adorable, but I do understand that slight lack of sparkle and energy the judges were feeling. Hope they stay out of the bottom three!

Caitlin & Jason (pop jazz) -- You know that part in the rehearsal footage where someone said the whole routine would come down to us believing she's dominating him? I didn't believe it. I thought they danced it really well, and I thought Caitlin took on the character really well, but Jason wasn't quite letting her be in control, energy-wise, so it was hard for me to believe his character.

Jeanine & Phillip (hip hop) -- Phillip is a lucky bastard, drawing hip hop again. But I don't wanna say that was effortless or anything, because that chain looked like a pain in the ass. The judges seemed to realize it, too.

It's so interesting watching these two dance. Despite being the stronger dancer, Jeanine seems to want Phillip to lead, but he can't, not entirely, so you'll see her fall away from him a bit and step up on her own. These are inevitably the places where they get out of sync. But when they're both stepping up their game, really playing off and against each other's energy, they're great. In a genre Phillip's confortable in, that is.

Melissa & Ade (classical pas de deux) -- SO MUCH LOVE. :D

Karla & Vitolio (quickstep) -- Aha, so that's Vitolio. And that's the Karla we sometimes didn't see with Jonathan. I liked these two together. It's not a perfect match yet, but I think they'll do well if they stay in the competition together.
