3 Minutes (2.22)

I will add my noise to the great cacophony of flist squeeage. Jack and Sawyer might as well have hugged or fucked or "screwed" (as our sanitized TV Sawyer would say) over those fucking guns. It could be just like my last story, except without the booze.

But am I wrong to have reservations about the whole BFF thing? Some people write according to the show; some of us write better when we're opposing the show. How can I write touchy-feely Jack/Sawyer now? Or even just amiable Jack/Sawyer? I had this same problem with the poker thing. On the screen: Hot, hot, and can I say HOT, but still, nothing that inspired me to write...except Skate smut. Slash on the screen seems fulfilling enough that I can't write it, or maybe it would seem boring to me to go with the flow, so to speak. What's wrong with me? Does anybody else have this issue? Am I just a contrary asshole? I think I am. I think I have a need to write against the grain--hence my diving headlong into fandom writing the pairing I was the most sure would never make sense: Jack/Sawyer.

As for the rest of the episode, bluh. I don't particularly like that we get these flashbacks that tell us a lot of what we'd already guessed. Yes, there must be a reason Michael wants these particular people to go. It was interesting to know he was there when Kate was captured, but we had to watch that fucking scene again.

I don't know what to think about Michael now. I was holding out hope that he'd been brainwashed or something, but since it turns out he killed two people and shot himself while he was in his right mind, I don't know what they're going to do with him. You could say he was crazy because of Walt (and, Lord, didn't he do freaked out so WELL in this episode), but he's too fucking calm to be crazy. I don't care how much he throws up in the jungle, I have no sympathy: he's a murderer, and a lucid, calculating one at that (with AL...perhaps Libby was panic).

Not being a spoiler person, I'm a little worried about the end of the season. Somebody's gonna die. I'm putting money on Sayid. But I really don't know who, and I'm scared. I would not put it past them to kill Kate or even Jack now. Or Sawyer. But what I want to know is--why the four names on the list? The most intriguing question to me right now is exactly WHAT are they studying out there? And how many groups are there running around on the island? What will annoy me about the finale is getting the whole answer, or none of it (a la the great reveal of...the drop down into the hatch).
