randomosity...and why I'm not around lately
Seriously, I've been too busy the last couple of weeks grading exams and papers and in general being a student to be around and be social. Not just with LJ, but with my life, too, mostly. And I haven't done any writing in nearly a week. I haven't read a hell of a lot either. It's fucking weird.
So, I'm definitely not trying to be non-participatory or anti-social. Swear. I'm only on right now because I'm at work and can afford to goof off a little. My boss is out of town. :)
I've got a backlog of TV, too. Haven't seen any House all season yet. I see a marathon of that in my future. I've been keeping up with Bones, but I'm behind on this week's ep (as I always tend to be; I usually catch up with it on lazy Monday nights). I saw The Office last week (!!!) but will be taping it tonight, probably also to save until next week. I've got Pushing Daisies on tape, too. I miss Ned and Chuck. *whines* Probably, it'll be tomorrow or Monday before I watch it.
On the upside, as busy as I am, it's been because instead of wallowing in laziness and lethargy at my house, I've been on top of my life, sticking to a schedule for getting my reading done for my comprehensive exams even when, like this week, I have a shit ton of other things to do. Oh, and I'm starting to do cardio three days a week at the gym. Even when, like today, I have no time, really.
I did get take last night off, however--to go see a show. I saw Okkervil River in Birmingham, and they were pretty damn awesome. I am possibly in love. Seriously.
Oh, hey, I never told y'all that I saw Tom Waits this summer, did I? He was beyond awesome, and that's coming from a person with only a passing familiarity with his music.
