(ETA: Thanks, KC and Amanda!) I'm confused, and it's hard to glean info scrolling back through the flist...not that I have time to go through 6 days of the flist

Wow. Time for link roundup. First LJ got rid of basic accounts for NEW ACCOUNT HOLDERS only. (Anything registered after the 14th, I think?)

Then, someone did some research and found this: SUP hates the gays? y/y

Then there was talk of a strike: Hell Yay, we won't stay?

Then the SUP guys called the client base "pushy": Whoops, that's my foot in my mouth!

Then it turns out the anti-Semites hate SUP cause they're Jewish: By helping us, we help them, or... something? I dunno

I knew about that first thing, but I hadn't heard the latest in serious LJ issues with the typical dose of tinhattery.

Yes, HELLO, dear! I haven't finished either story yet, either. I can have my random dirty Lee/Sam PWP done by deadline, but the Sam/Helo turned into an epic monstrosity (9900 words at last count), so it'll be late. (But, hey, I did some editing of it on the plane! Angsty frakking at 30,000 feet, FTW!)

WOW! I'm super stoked for that. Dayln wrote Chief/Sam! :D It's bitty but it's good!

I'm going to try to work on my Tucker/Sam tonight (not that I shouldn't already be in bed or anything), which I've worked on off and on and should be the longer of the pieces. Although, not that long. Good lord, woman! And hopefully knock out some Chief/Sam tomorrow.

What I've been able to gather is, in the last couple of days, LJ took away the basic account, so there was only a choice between plus account (with the ads) and a paid account. There was also some censorship of the interest page (I'm a little confused on that specifically). And a shady response from the people at the top. There was an apology posted here sometime today (you might want to check ficangel's journal, because that's where I got that link from).

The strike, though, is basically a bunch of people saying they won't post or comment on Friday, to let LJ know they're pissed.
