RHS 29th reunion

Aug 20, 2006 02:01

It's been 20 years, and we are starting to grow up, faces and bodies have changed but personalities have not. Few people have kept in touch, and there was great commeraderie amongst those that were there. By the end, we did am impromptu Alma Mater, and one of the popular boys announed that the party would continue in the bar across the street. They had to flash lights to get us out of the room. Just like club jaders, the party started when the music went off, and we had a chance to talk. They are planning a 25 year reunion, but without the reunion planner at $45/per person. We've got a web site up, and they plan to keep it up.

I've been happy all week, knowing I would see old friends, and it seems that everyone else was in the same mode. Perhaps it is my mindset that has changed much since last time, and greatly since high school. I'm happy with myself now. I still see plenty of things I'm trying to change, but overall, am proud of self. We are also out of high school, and that whole popular thing. What shocked me was one of the organizers, who has seemed to be the very essance of continuing high school told stories of how she had to tell people to get past high school because they did not want to attend if some other people were attending. OK, and that so many people have "found Christ" as stated in their memory books. Funny how life comes back around to deeper meanings, especially favoring the positive side.
