I am going through something and it's pretty fucking shitty.

For about 8 months I have been having digestive issues. Gas, bloating, diarreah, distention, and most recently: tingling extremities, horrendous brain fog and severe tenderness in my abdomen. I went to two doctors, I have had blood work, stool samples and am getting an endoscope and ultra sound at the end of october. So.

I have 8/10 genetic markers for celiac disease. I have also taken part of a clinical trial for celiac disease in type one diabetics (which is where those genetic markers got tested) However, my bloodwork and everything else has come back negative.

Apparently (and part of the clinical trial) people with type one diabetes actually test negative for celiac, and can show no symptoms due to the overactive auto immune response to a "leaky gut". So yeah, thanks for that body. Not only do you fuck up, you cover your mistakes.

While I am still hopeful  that my endoscopy comes back negative,my endocrinologist has asked me to take 7 days to follow a strict gluten free diet just to see, for the hell of it. After that one week I am to follow a gluten heavy diet for 3 weeks before my final tests to prevent them being inconclusive.

So today is day one. I plan on logging my food here, out of necessity. Also, I don't want to be the person who constantly talks abotu gluten free everything so I am just trying to sort out potentially facing another autoimmune disease diagnosis and how that willa ffect my psychologically. It's not the condition, it's the label. It's being "sick" forever. It's really starting to wear on me these days, and I keep getting closer to burniing out.

Thankfully I have a job that promotes healthy living with diabetes, I am  the face of this organization so i have no choice but to care for myself, and that's the exact push I need right now. It's a zero pressure urge to care for me internally so externally I am able.

Anyway. Boring food post now!

Bfast:
2 eggs w/ spinach & feta
2 rice cakes w/ GF almond butter
1 coffee

Snack: peach, banana

Lunch:
Veg. Burrito bowl
3 plums
15 rice crackers

Ps: I FUCKING LOVE GLUTEN. Ugh.
