My first steps on the path of Reiki

About a month ago I started a course to become a Reiki Master through Civas. Its a home course with 3 initiations/practice days. The course is very well written and I'm happy with it so far. I take this course in combination with aura/chakra healing.
So I just returned from the first initiation.

I can tell you how it was like for me, but remember that everyone experiences their initiation different.

First we started out with tea and any questions about the course could be discussed. The guy who gave the initiation is the same who had written the course to become a Reiki Master eventually ;)

We were with a group of 7 and we had all to sit in a circle on chairs. The Reiki master was assisted by 4 people who recieved their Reiki 3 ealier that day.

My initiation felt warm. I mostly felt it in my head. It was like this band of pressure was tied around my forehead. My shoulders just felt warm. I didnt feel much in my hands and knees but my feet were also very warm. Afterwards I was a bit dizzy but I could feel the Reiki was streaming within myself instantly. My hands were all warm.

We had a rest and we discussed how it felt for everyone. After that we gave Reiki to ourselves for the first time. Guided by the master and chakra music. We did that twice, one time sitting up and one time laying down. The 2nd time you also had to visualise the colors of the chakras. After that you had to check each chakra and record how that chakra feels for you so you would know which chakras need some extra attention.

We did an exercise in aura reading, grounding and protecting yourself from energy from others. It was great to experience everything and I learned a lot today. And I now have a diploma for first degree reiki ^.^

I now have to give myself Reiki for 21 days in a row, and I may not forget or else I have to start all over again ;)
