Idols and Heroes

I dunno why I'm actually interested in American Idol this year. It's probably the first season where I'm actively following the season. Although that interest is kinda threatened by the extreme boredom I experienced after watching this week's episode.

We have 3 blardie powerful voices who excel at belting out those long notes and while there's no denying their talent, it makes for a rather boring show. By the start of the second set of songs, I was drooling on my seat in a drunken stupor of way too many high notes and thinking about how much I already miss Chris I-have-damn-sexy-eyes Richardson and how much of a fit his falsetto is with Barry Gibb's music. Heck, even Phil I-vill-suck-your-blood Stacey would help in breaking up the monotony of the show. Why oh why couldn't I get my JoMeliCake Top 4? Instead, we get a LaMeJoke Top 4, which was definitely the case since none of them can really do justice to the theme night.

Ah heck, at least it's a good Top 3 now. BlaMeJo! Haha. Anyway, it turns out that Blake's not the only beatboxer around. And even though the competition's still on, he's already an inspiration to this little kid. Haha, cute.

As much as I enjoy this season, I really wish they show some of the behind the scenes videos on the main show or give us some insight into the contestants. It's a hoot to see Blake and Chris being total goofballs and it would have been great to see their personalities on the show itself. Oh well. Now all I hope for is a BlaMe finale. That would be awesome. Jordin's too meh and her cutesy act is starting to be gag-inducing. Go Melinda! Go Blake!

Meanwhile, Heroes follows up on the very impressive Five Years Gone with an episode that delves into Sylar's character and motivations. He has a really twisted view of the world - "These people have no powers that I can gain, thus they are innocent." - which really makes you think exactly what has happened to him to skew his perceptions thus. And the interaction with his mother is really creepy and ultimately tragic. We see that, faced with the possible destiny of being responsible for th deaths of countless people, Sylar chooses instead to exile himself and live quietly, only to see that decision being vehemently challenged by the only person who knows him before he became Sylar.

All in, excellent episode of Heroes, not-so-good episode of AI. Dammit, me revealing that I actually enjoy watching American Idol is going to do serious damage to my reputation of "I don't watch TV (/haughty voice)". Oh well.

heroes - greatest show on earth yes?, zomg i watch american idol, chris richardson, unprecedented, sylar can eat my brains at any time, brake rewis
