1. Why did Russia choose a city so close to the Caucasus / Georgia to host the winter Olympics? Was there some oil oligarch behind this?
2. Li Na is awesome in so many ways. First there was The speech. Then there's her rebellious spirit and general honesty to herself, which I think reveals itself in this Wall Street Journalarticle. Then there's the fact that she's coached by Carlos Rodriguez.
3. I am invested enough in Liverpool FC that I will be watching the Merseyside Derby. I wasn't invested enough, however, to know that it was today until the Internet told me.
I don't know if it's a general restlessness that I have, but I have always been intrigued with international sport. Maybe I just like learning and following international sport allows me to learn about other countries and events.

2. The Chinese national sport system, politics, sport marketing economics in an emerging/expanding market, Sina Weibo and how the Chinese interact with it
3. Background on Liverpool's economic history (which accounts for some of its rivalry with Manchester), sadly stadium design, the way sponsorship money works.
