So last weekend (technically two weekends ago now) I knew I was skimming close to the low end of my bank account, but that I would get paid by direct deposit on monday, and all would be good. And I had $40 to last two days, and anything excess could just go on my credit card. Long story short I was running low on gas, and got halfway through my tank before I realized the beep beep beep of the gas pump was the sound of me getting overdraft charges.

And naturally, the way banks work, they reorder your charges to pay for the biggest thing first. So that $4 trip to the frozen yogurt place? $25 overdraft fee. $5 at Delaware Subs? $25 overdraft fee. $8 at Walgreens? $25 overdraft fee.

So I've been putting it off for about a week, calling up my bank and trying to dispute the charges and talk them down a bit. I hate doing that kind of thing, but in this case it's justified. I figured they could at least charge me once, and wipe out the other two, since I probably haven't had an overdraft fee in like 6 years, and have been with the bank for 11 or so years.

So I called them up, and go through a phone tree 4 miles deep before I actually talk to someone. But when I do, I just explained the situation, verified some information about my account, and voila, the lady refunded $60 of it. So I don't want to hear anyone talking shit about Bank of America and their overdraft fees, cause they hooked me up.
