I wish I took more Spanish. Someone, either Susan or Cary, or Sara, or someone else equally crafty ( Read more... )

do NOT use the translation off that site. it is completely nonsensical. it makes me cringe.

i would translate it thus:

Buenos días. Le estoy llamando acerca de su apartamento aquilado con The Forest. (i wouldn't translate the proper noun. it might not register.)

No hablo bien el español. ¿Hay alguien allí quien puede interpretar para mi? (or para nosotros)

¿Puedo déjarle un número de telefono para que alguien bilingüe nos llame luego?

Lo siento la inconveniencia, pero si Usted habla más despacio, es posible que yo le entienda mejor. Entiendo un poquito de español.

Lamento decirle que si no hablo con alguien bilingüe antes del fin de día, tedría que poner su apartamento en venta.

i'm having trouble with the next sentence: "Please have someone who can translate call us as soon as possible." it's the "please have someone..." part. i don't know how to command someone to command someone else to do something. at least, not politely. if susan doesn't help (i'm sure she'll get that part), can you rephrase it somehow? also, i'm not certain about "to look forward to." my best guess is Esperamos que Ustedes vivan aquí. you might replace aquí with con nosotros.

just a couple of notes i meant to put in:

in a couple spots i turned "someone who can translate" into "someone bilingual" just to simplify things. also, i turned "translate" into "interpret" because my understanding is that translators deal with written word and interpreters deal with spoken word.

also, my grammar is slightly clunky and out-of-practice. i'm sure there are smoother ways to say some of that.

You are probably right on the bilingüe thing. I hardly ever use that word although it is more concise.

I changed "translate" into "interpret" as well. ^_^

Casi puse "con nosotros" al fin de esa frase también, jeje.
