New Fall Shows

So I was looking at the new fall season thinking 'eugh, everything looks so boring' and had just about given up and resigned myself to watching old Burn Notice episodes I had fallen behind on (season 3, I think?) when...

Arrow. I know! One look at those promo pics and I thought it was going to be ridiculous. But then one good fandom-sourced review later, and I was watching the pilot. And then the second episode. And then the third. And then I figured I should pace myself.

I'm not used to not being able to marathon things.

I'm also toying with Hunted (I almost type 'haunted', every time...), which is hard to describe without starting out with "Imagine James Bond was a chick, and--".

And still, after all this time, Grimm is giving me the puppy dog eyes from across the room, saying, you're only one season behind, c'mon, you can catch up.

The Primeval: New World pilot left me pleasantly surprised, and very intrigued. I'm oddly proud of this series, a lot of which is probably my West Coast self rearing up. But besides that, the pilot managed to make the necessary exposition exciting and enticing, the cast (quite young, but that I can understand) seems intelligent and so far (42 minutes) appears to have good chemistry. And the CGI is a beaut, of course. I still get a laugh seeing all the old SG-1/SGA names in the directors credits.

All in all, a light TV load is just what I need right now.

If only I could get those damn Primeval fics finished!

grimm, primeval: new world, arrow, hunted
