That was lovely. I liked Lester's uncertainty, coupled with the determination to do something, even if he didn't know what the something should be.

For reasons unknown to him, Lester began to hum. It wasn't anything in particular; he was no musician. Just a few bars he repeated in a makeshift melody, keeping the notes low and soft.

Lester being instinctively caring - lovely!
