Almost-spring things
Watched this week's Justified a few days late. Jim Beaver! (I barely recognized him without a hat.) Missed Tim :(
Had to add 'arse' to Word's custom dictionary list today.
Saw a downy woodpecker at the suet feeder. Did I mention I saw a sharp-shinned (or maybe it was a Cooper's) hawk staring at the feeder last week?
Daylight savings time change is a bitch.
Heard that The Cape has been cancelled. Not surprising really, but I'm still disappointed.
Dissected a Xenopus laevis last Tuesday. He was soooo cute. Like a sac of jello. It was a female, actually (open up the abdominal cavity and - WHAM - ovary everywhere), but whenever I anthropomorphize a specimen they always turn out male....
Was planning on watching the Genies purely for Bill and the promise of a Gordon Pinsent appearance. I was vetoed :(
My Hawaii Five-0 love is threatening to wane while I wait for new episodes. And from the sound of it they're going to be full of cameos :/
One of my classes involves a two-person self-directly ecology study. Note: it is very hard to dig after and measure crabs when it starts to SNOW at the BEACH. I'm doing this for you, Science, remember that, now.
Watched Naturally Obsessed, a documentary about bio grad students in New York, in one of my bio classes two weeks ago. Any guesses as to what I'm not going to be doing in the future?
Watched Let's All Hate Toronto, a documentary on why Canadians seem to love to rag on Toronto. Mr Toronto (with an eyepatch!) is kind of adorable.
Finally watched the season two premiere of The Listener. This sounds bad, but: I'm not sure why I still like this show. New detective is (so far) a bitch, the case made no sense, Toby apparently now uses his powers for fun and Charlie's dead but that's fine. It's pretty much a new pilot.
