A/N: So I wrote this as a reaction to the latest episode "Remains of the J" for the prompt "protest" at the drabble community
gossip_girl100. Then I realized I couldn't enter it because it was actually real person fic, and they don't allow that. So I decided to share it elsewhere instead. I'm sure some of you will share my sentiments about the turn the show has taken. :D
Leighton looks up from her script dubiously. “Is this a joke?”
Ed shakes his head.
“So Blair seriously goes back to Nate and Chuck sleeps with Vanessa?”
“Several times,” he replies.
“That’s fucking bullshit!” she cries flinging the script away. “No one is going to buy that!”
“I agree, but what can we do? We don’t write the lines. We just act them.”
She looks at him mischievously, a glint in her eyes more Blair than Leighton. “Then we act them badly until they put us back together.”
He smirks like a certain billionaire bad boy. “Deal. A silent protest.”
