Do this, it's good for you. Take a minute and put down a list of fifty (50) things you love. It's hard, but try to find them. And I won't laugh at what you put down, so don't laugh at any of mine. This should brighten any grey day.
1) Meaty, lengthy e-mails from people, especially if I haven't heard from them in a while.
2) My cat, especially how he sometimes wakes me up in the morning by stroking my cheek with a velvety-soft paw.
Also his white-tipped tail, pretty green eyes and alarming amount of personality.
3) The fact that my dad has read every one of Kurt Vonnegut's books, and that he started reading them right out of college, before him and Mom got married, while he was on the road working in sales. And that I didn't know this about him until just a few weeks ago.
4) The poinsetta in our office. We've had it since before Christmas. I don't particularly like poinsettas, but I like this one because I took it upon myself to care for it, and it's still thriving. I don't usually have much success in the plant department (2005's Christmas poinsetta was dead by January '06), so the fact this one is doing well is pretty encouraging.
5) Licking your fingers after eating Doritos or Chex Mix or something, thereby tasting the seasoning and spices at their most concentrated.
6) Thunderstorms at night.
7)
Arrested Development. I've been re-watching my DVDs lately and I can't believe such a brilliant show was cancelled. Oh wait, I can believe it, because it was way too smart for the idiot box. Which leads us to my concurrent love...
8) Jason Bateman.
9) Changing the TV that's on in front of me at work from the horrorshow that is "The View" to "Spongebob Squarepants" every day at 11 a.m. And the fact that no one ever raises a stink about it, not even my regional manager, even though the TVs are supposed to stay tuned to the big four networks so we can track breaking news.
10) When somebody just straight up understands me.
11) Waffle House hash browns, loaded up with salt.
12) Perfectly sweetened iced tea.
13) Music that transports you.
14) That moment when you're snuggled into bed, your brain has turned off and you're right at the brink of falling asleep. That's true relaxation.
15) Remembering my dreams when I wake up.
16) Jeans that make my ass look fantastic.
17) Bellydancing to unexpected music, like Metallica or Aerosmith.
18) Wikipedia.
19) The garden courts in the West Building of the National Gallery of Art in DC.

23) Swords, maces, battle axes, bows-and-arrows, and other forms of archaic weaponry.
24) Chocolate chip cookies.
25) Taking the subway/Metro/Underground in an unfamiliar city, especially if it's in another country. I think you learn a lot about a place based on its public transportation.

27) British humor.
28) Trying on ridiculous dresses like ballgowns and prom dresses for no good reason while I'm out shopping.
