Oh my shit.
TV Land plays some of the weirdest shit I've ever seen during the wee hours of the morning. Around 1:00ish last night I was flipping through the channels when I saw this....freakish, green, tentacley, seaweedy thing scurrying about a house. And later I found out he wasn't the only one. Picture the bastard child of that huge hairy muppet monster and Cthulu. That's what we're talking about here. Maybe I'll post a picture if I can find one.
After that show (which was calld "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters") there was "Electra Woman and Dyna Girl," a superhero duo in reddish and pinkish and orangey outfits. Apparently the whole secret identity thing doesn't matter to them, because they have no masks when they "Electra-transform" to their superhero selves. They also have small toasters strapped to their wrists that seem to be vaguely akin to Batman's utility belt...they do whatever, whenever. They also have a large sweaty man in a sweater back at their hideout that seems to do all of the thinking and most of the work on their funky 70's computation machine whilst the two ladies in orange bungle around and fuck everything up repeatedly. The episode involved them chasing around an idiotic looking villain called "The Sorcerer" who they let escape about 10 times throughout the course of the show. His big evil plot involved going back in time to steal famous works of art, like the Mona Lisa just as Da Vinci is finishing it. What annoyed me the most about this show was that, in the words of Doctor Emmet Brown, they "Weren't thinking 4th dimensionally." When the Sorcerer stole the Mona Lisa from Da Vinci in the past, the painting in the present just disappeared from the museum as though someone had taken it....but if it had been stolen in 1500-whatever, it never would have been famous in the first place and thus never would have been in the museum and no one would have ever heard of it. Right? Right. Anyways, it was all very trippy and full of psychadelic lighting effects and piss-poor acting...and Dyna Girl kept adding "Electra" to the front of words whenever she opened her mouth. "Electra-fantastic, Elektra-devious, Electra-tarded show" etc. Now lemme see if I can find pictures of all this garbage....
