An Ode to Hangovers

Feb 14, 2010 21:25

Not the film, mind you, but the piercing, skull cracking headache one finds themselves afflicted with the morning after cavorting with friends.

A hangover is a sign of many things- irresponsibility, alcohol abuse, stupidity, and poor life choices in general. However, on occasion, these things, although bad, make a statement of rebellion, however small and pathetic, against society at large. A person afflicted with a hangover knew what they were getting into, and continued anyway, pounding away at the Booze while the mulleted DJ at whatever random Rockwall County Honky-Tonk you've found yourself at breaks up fights while still calling up people to the stage for a round of Ka-roh-kay (Not Kare-e-oh-kee)

Anyway. In some ways, it is an act of rebellion. A statement that I Will Not Be a Productive Member of Society. I'm going to lay in bed and not get out till 5pm. I'm going to feel disgusting and bloated to fight against the oppressive images of beauty that the media thrusts upon us. Then, I'm going to go to Cafe Brazil and devour a deliciously unhealthy grilled cheese.

Yep.

Here is a picture of the snow in Dallas.
