Cynical Beast's General Mary Sue Rant
I'm going to be honest here, there is nothing I hate more then Mary Sues. They are my ultimate pet peeve. I've hated them since I was 9, Jean Grey of X-Men always has pissed me off and struck me as too perfect and too annoying. I have deemed her a God-sue. An annoying, obnoxious God sue.
When you are creating a character it would be greatly appreciated if you didn't try to make them the most powerful creature on the face of the earth. Seriously, if your character has the power to cause Armageddon then they are pretty much a God sue, which is the most annoying obnoxious thing ever created. If you are doing an rp and two characters are fighting and you are godmoding and taking no damage then you are a sue and a god moder. I understand having some variety in creating characters, but please no half angel, one fourth neko, three fourths kitsune, one half demon, one fifth lizard with 20 tails crap. It's annoying and obnoxious, not to mention a complete God Sue trait to give them.
Please do not have the most annoying helpful sue. Seriously, the last thing anyone needs is a fifteen year old girl who is already: ZOMG! Medacal Xpert! Totally haxor! Umm...no. Totally cliche, and obnoxious. Sounds like something out of Cinderella. If your character can woo the token birds, make flowers bloom wherever she walks, then you have a problem. If your character is running around wooing the canon characters and pretty much everyone is in love with her and she has to ZOMG! DECIDE! And choose her true love. Hurr Durr Durr. Then she is most definitely a Mary Sue. Sure characters can have nice figures and be generally beautiful but when they are just way too over the top it ventures into Mary Sue territory.
Emo sues are by far the worst. They are the ones with the tragic past that make small kittens, puppies and bunnies want to commit suicide. The one who's family was massacred, the one who was a victim of -insert awful abuse here- and totally wants revenge. The one who cuts for amusement, and all of the canon characters have some sort of pity for her and want to help her.
Then of course there are the rather obnoxious tomboy sues. I get it you want your character to be a strong female figure. You can have a strong female character and not have them be a complete Mary Sue. It just gets rather annoying when female characters totally rip of Mulan and other Disney Princess movies.
Self-inserting, is rather annoying as well. Seriously, Stephanie Meyer much. I do not want to read about your perfect little relationship with your imaginary sparkling vampire who can kill you but doesn't want to because he LURVES you. I'm sorry but I would rather you keep your wet Mary Sue dreams to yourself and not try to rp them with me or publish them anywhere on the internet where someone like me, can stumble upon it and want to flame you.

I disagree with this test but it does give a good general idea, so there you go.
