A quote from a manager I know worthy to be put on a banner of the managers tribe. Mnagers are typically squeezed between their subordinates and supervisors. Not alsways a nice place to be in especially if your rsources and abilities are limited. The statement above looks very nice and empowering and all. But if you scratch the surface, it says "I do not want to know shit". If you solve the problem - good for you, if you do not solve the problem - I will make you a scapegoat. But I do not want to solve the problem myself, because then I will be responsible for the outcome. PS Btw, if the solution you found is good enough I will take credit for it myself" . Ciao.
