For those of you who don't live in the 5th Congressional district of this worthless hellhole someone once called a state, a little bit of history. We actually voted in a Democrat to Congress in the last election. However, as soon as he got to Washington, he switched his affiliation to the Republicunts. Now, he's one of the most conservative members of Congress and is spreading lies about the current health care bill. So, tonight I emailed him. Tell me if you think this is too nice for what he deserves:
"Congressman Griffith,
I wish to express my deepest level of disappointment with your first term in Washington. I actively campaigned for you, had your sign in my front yard, and voted for you. I did this because I wanted to see a Democrat represent the values that I hold dear.
I cannot tell you how angry I was upon hearing of your sudden "change of heart" and your disgusting pandering to the lesser-educated of your district by changing teams and sticking an "R" behind your name.
I really don't appreciate the lies you spread in newsletters and commercials on local news. You know damned well this bill is far from a government takeover of healthcare, and that this nation drastically needs the reforms that are in this bill. It will not raise taxes on the average citizen and it will not destroy jobs. I am appalled that you would stoop to this level.
I don't expect you to change your vote tomorrow because you and your new party's lies have poisoned the well for your constituency who rather than seek the real answers will swallow whatever is vomited to them on Fox News. However, for what it's worth, I want you to know that I am ashamed I ever told people to vote for you and I will never ever vote for you again.
I will support whoever runs against you on the Democratic ticket, hope he/she wins, and hope that he/she also will not spinelessly change teams the way you did because there's a sense that the political winds might be blowing in a different direction. I will also tell everyone I know just what a ridiculous coward you are.
For a long time, I wished for Alabama to actually have a decent, Progressive leader. I thought you might fulfill at least a part of that wish. I have never been so wrong in my life.
If this state and its sordid political past could be besmirched any further, further than George Wallace's "segregation now" speech, further than Fob James idiocy, further than Roy Moore's religious demagoguery, it has been by you, sir.
Thanks for nothing. If only I had that vote back.
Stephen G. Melvin"
I really think there should have been more cursing and name-calling. Then again, I didn't take the low-blows I should have because I am not a Teabagger.
