Overlooked
Andre Norton is dead. She wrote one of my favorite books ever, Shadow Hawk ( although my copy does not have that living history crap associated with it ). She was prolific like few other authors not named Asimov. She was also a librarian in Cleveland for many years.
Although it is not mentioned in the obit, a copy I own of one of her books says that she was a graduate of Case Western Reserve University. Now, I am not sure how she possibly could have graduated from CWRU given that CWRU did not exist until ~1974, but I think it possible given that she grew up in Cleveland that maybe she want to Mather and some well meaning copy editor updated the name of the school. Anyone know? Certainly I have never heard CWRU claim her as a famous alumnae, and quite frankly she would be one of the most famous liberal arts alumnae ever...
