Mad Ramblings of a Diseased Mind

Mar 03, 2005 20:31

No, this post is not about Hunter S. Thompson, or Harlan Ellison for that matter. I am just rambling, stream of consciousness, no paragraph breaks, no real thought. Went to mokatz's nuptials last weekend, which means that his livejournal user name is now totally obsolete since both he and _grimkitten changed their last name to something new. Saw all the people who usually turn up at these things, namely ayb2, eirias, Mark & Lauren, and lots more cool people. And some uncool people, but enough about me. Went to the Andy Warhol musuem, which is pretty darn cool. I like the silver balloon room. Lizabeth was not particularly impressed, but she liked dinner which was at a old Catholic cathedral which was turned into a brewery. Very pretty. Good pork chop and french onion soup. I still have not opened my iPod box. Sigh. Going to see Melissa Ferrick in a little bit at the Grog, next week Clem Snide at the Beachland. Work went well this week, got paid, my profit sharing check and a bonus. Go me. Decided that since there was no interest savings paying off the car loan I would rather pay off my student loan, which will take a few more paychecks and does not free up that much cash per month but will save a lot more interest in the long run. Hurrah. Thanks to everyone for the comments. The car loan can wait. Did I mention that the lox at the wedding was fucking awesome, really good stuff, much better than the stuff at my birthday party. Worth going to the wedding for that alone. First wedding of expected 7 this year, fortunately only one more is out of town. Too many people getting married, and there are still *plenty* of single-not-married PhiKaps to come in the next few years. This year and last year were apparently the AZD years. Which of course means that soon everyone will be having kids and being way uncool. My coworker Dave is very excited about White Lion at Peabodys in March. I am not. Time to start planning Opening Day festivities. 230(pw). Need to start working out more seriously, enough of this cardio stuff, even if it does work up a real good sweat. What I really need ( whispers my mind ) is to eat less. Sigh. Sometimes I wonder how anyone can afford to live in this country. Of course, it would help if I did not go to 10 gazillion movies, speaking of which the Cleveland International Film Festival is coming up real fast, and the new Cinematheque schedule is GREAT! and Merchant of Venice is still playing and Aieee!! Overload. Feel like locking myself in my room for a few weeks. Read the first 4 Tarzan books last week. My Grandpa says he read those when he was a kid. Somehow this surprises me, it does not seem practical enough, but then that is a 10 year old assessment of a grandfather. Also reading some Peter Straub, who is just as creepy without Stephen King as he is with. Good too. I have some books I need to unload at Mac's Backs. What do you do with a totally worthless book? Can you throw it out? I mean, it is a book, so that feels wrong, but that may just be the ravings of a guy whose co-religionists are called the people of the book. Seriously I have a book of late 1990s computer program easter eggs that I got as a gag gift once. It is totally worthless, unsellable. Any redeeming value? Of course not, but I can not sell it.

OK. That is all.
