My folks
came up three weekends ago, and this Independence Day weekend M's parents are here. They actually aren't the first members of M's family to see Birdie, as two weeks ago M's cousin Heather was in town and came over to do a backyard visit. Including her, the list of people who have seen Birdie is now:
- Eli and Gaela when they dropped off a gift.
- Kendra when she was here for Tulip.
- Ed & Mary when they dropped off a gift.
- Kris when she came to help M fix a chair.
- Shari when we gave her some of Tulip's old stuff.
- My parents.
- Heather.
- M's parents.
Now that all the grandparents have visited, we hopefully can start opening it up a bit and seeing more people.
M's parents arrived Friday night. They brought up a bunch of hand-me-downs from M's nephew, who is almost eight. This included several board books, a few stuffed animals and some toys for when she's older. This morning Grandpa put together a fancy Lion King themed baby entertainment station which we've joked will likely become her new "office" when she goes to work with me.
Otherwise, we've eaten a lot of good food. M took her folks to the lake Saturday night and as I'm writing this they're off with Birdie to go look at a waterfall in the Metroparks. Our pattern for yesterday and today was Grandpa and Birdie and I got up early, then after everyone was awake I went and took a nap. This is a very satisfactory pattern.
