May & June Lifestyle Change Update

Jul 05, 2014 13:00

I've had my notes for my May diet update report on my desk at home since June 1, but I've been busy. We'll combine it with June. Both months had fewer working days due a Florida vacation (May) and my annual BWCA trip (June).

May wasn't too shabby. I was at work 17 days. I got one skip day when I gave blood due to my well established "if you give blood you can eat anything you want that day, especially if you forgot about the blood drive and biked in" rule. There was one birthday celebration among the team. I just plain fell off the wagon three times, which is bad. This totals our at 13 of 17.

June was worse. I was at work only 14 days and ate M&Ms on four of them. I also had pretzels one day, which was admittedly because I didn't have a full lunch with me, but that's poor planning. I also bought a cupcake one day from a fundraiser, but that was paid for so doesn't count. June totaled out at 9 of 14.

January - 50% - 11/22
February - 72% - 13/18
March - 90% - 19/21
April - 95% - 21/22
May - 76% - 13/17
June - 64% - 9/14

M&Ms are slowly reviving as my weak point. I'm definitely thinking about them much more often. Other junk food brought in by my coworkers hasn't been an issue. I did buy ice cream for my entire team yesterday, but I paid for that so it doesn't quite count; my rule is that I won't eat stuff I didn't pay for because I almost never buy anything.

They announced that the next health screening is in August. That's much earlier than it was the last two years so I need to buckle down if I'm going to drop my blood sugar out of pre-diabetic range by then. Biking is going well, so this will largely be tied to diet.
