For gaming night we take turns arranging for dinner. Tonight's my night. Right now my slow cooker has some delicious beef stew in it for tonight's gaming session. I'm going to take the virtually unprecedented step of posting the recipe before I've actually tried it. Hopefully it tastes good. It was certainly well reviewed. I found it on

Slow Cooker Beef Stew
Makes Six Servings
2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 onion, chopped
1 1/2 cups beef broth
3 potatoes, diced
4 carrots, sliced
1 stalk celery, chopped
1. Place meat in slow cooker.
That's all the recipe says, but I browned it some first because I remember that it helped make the
cholent even more delicious.
2. In a small bowl mix together the flour, salt, and pepper; pour over meat, and stir to coat meat with flour mixture.
3. Stir in the garlic, bay leaf, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, onion, beef broth, potatoes, carrots, and celery.
I also a pound of mushrooms to put in there, because I love mushrooms.
4. Cover, and cook on Low setting for 10 to 12 hours, or on High setting for 4 to 6 hours.
In the event this doesn't quite work (seems unlikely), I've got tasty cheese to cover the gap.
Also, six servings seems low, given how much meat there is in here.
