My Parents Rock Out

My parents are visiting tigerlily_blue this weekend in Atlanta. As part of the festivities, my sister is taking them to see Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings.

My parents actually go to a fair number of concerts, especially considering that they live in North Dakota, which does not number "major concert tour destination" among its virtues. Their preferences run toward folk, but they have been known to go to other artists from time to time. Most hilariously, they once went and saw Weird Al sans any kids.

In any event, back when my sister lived in the Twin Cities my parents would drive down to see her with some regularity. On one of those trips, back in the 2004-2006 time range, she took them to see The Decemberists. At this show my sister was standing right in front of my parents when a guy came up and hit on her. She promptly turned back to my father and said "so what do you think of this one, Dad?" To which he calmly replied over his beer "he looks like a loser honey, you can do better." The guy slunk off.

Ok, so it probably didn't really happen that way, but when the legend becomes fact, print the legend!

print the legend, miss sharon jones
