I have a lot of chili recipes. This one is the one my mother made throughout my childhood. I've updated it somewhat to fit my personal tastes.

Mom's Chili1/2 lb ground beef

Can't touch it. Pepper.

I have tried making barbecue sauce with cinnamon instead of pepper. The response was such that I counted my fingers afterward. Just to be sure.

Sweet BBQ is a fine thing, but sweet chili less so.

Unsweetened cinnamon has a hell of a bite; but I agree it isn't right for beef.
