The summer schedule is heating up. I've already got tickets for three different shows, and I'm sure more will follow in the near future. Ok, i've been hearing about Pere Ubu my entire life, and if that track is representative, the Lords of the Highway's first line up (or second) would burn them off the stage.
Also NIN/Trent Reznor's Pretty Hate Machine was written in Cleveland.

PS the Allah-Las who opened for black Angels were rather awesome, definitely better than the Angels.

Note that I did not say "The best band to come out of Cleveland"; I said the most IMPORTANT band to come out of Cleveland. Pere Ubu is sort of like the "The Velvet Underground & Nico" - very few people listened in the first decade of their existence, but all the ones who did started bands.

Also, Heaven is NOT representative of Pere Ubu, just one I like. In fact, I'm not sure you could have a representative Pere Ubu track - they are all over the place.

Very well, what is, according to you, their best track? (or the 2 or 3 tied for best?). I am anxious to either add them to my music base or remove them definitively from investigation.

Tough call. Final Solution, maybe? 30 Seconds Over Tokyo? The Modern Dance was their first album and generally their most acclaimed one. The only thing that ever charted was Waiting for Mary, but I'm not familiar with that one.
