Penzeys Opens a West Side Cleveland Location

Nov 07, 2010 01:31

Those Clevelanders who don't want to drive all the way out to Woodmere to go to Penzeys Spices can now go to W.25th & Lorain, where a new location opened just yesterday. It's in the old Union Bank building, kitty corner from the West Side Market. The only sign is in the window, so it might take a bit of looking. I took a quick spin through it today and didn't see anything that inspires me to abandon my patronage of the locally owned Urban Herbs, which is actually inside the market, but to each their own.

The manager told me that they unloaded the trucks last Monday and opened on Friday, on relatively short notice. It's a good location for them; I'm actually sort of surprised that more specialty foods places haven't opened in close proximity to the WSM; after all, there are some gaps in its coverage and there are certainly available store fronts in the area.
