It's been a while since
xhollydayx and I
hosted supper club. We're up on Saturday. In the meantime, here's quick recap of all the Supper Club's since we last hosted in February 2009.
March 14, 2009 -
katspaw156 and
1em - The trouble with truffles. Among other things, popcorn made in truffle oil is frickin' awesome.
April 18, 2009 - Carol & John - A Taste of New England. Which is sort of cheating, since they lived there for a while.
May 16, 2009 - Carol & John hosted a Supper Club potluck, which is just like a normal potluck except that the food is a lot better than the usual jello casserole. Not that I have anything against jello casserole.
June 20, 2009 -
info_widget - Land Ho! I was out of town, but the description was "Maryland, Swaziland, Netherlands...land"
August 8, 2009 -
butterandjelly - Viva La France! As alluded to
previously, it had a lot of cheese, among other things. It was also, apropos of nothing, the first time I met the woman who
who bought my vacuum cleaner.
September 26, 2009 -
katspaw156 and
1em - Did you have a nice day dear? was the theme. This was the hilarious 1950s themed meal; it turns out that the traditional 1950s cookbook is kind of frightening. On the very positive side we found out that American alcohol technology reached its pinnacle in that decade.
October 17, 2009 - Carol & John - "A Cannibal's Feast" featured food items that had a body part name in them. Well, as far as I know. John IS a doctor...
November 14, 2009 - The Don and
sparklie_lady - I *Heart* Coffee. Just as it says on the tin. Surprisingly, I enjoyed all of it despite my general distaste for coffee. They served
Barely Buzzed.
February 20, 2010 -
darlox and
gieves threw the greatest thing ever. For Chinese New Years they made Dim Sum. Gung Hei Fat Choi! indeed. It was amazing. In true Dim Sum fashion, it even came close to $11/head.
March 20, 2010 - Alex & Cynthia - A Lusitanic Evening of Colonial Cuisine. Which is a fancy way of saying, Portugese food from around the world.
xhollydayx opted for the film fest instead.
So what are we doing on Saturday? Well, suffice it to say that it appears that we need 15 bulbs of garlic to serve 7 guests and ourselves. Aw yeah. There won't be any vampires anywhere near our house.
